I had a fantastically interesting conversation with the great Mark Helprin about, well, the war we’re in. I call it World War II, but it’s a war that has, unfortunately, a very dangerous home front dimension to it. The red, green, blue, even yellow axis that is what we’re up against, whether we know it or not combined with external forces that we are not, as we must, deterring adequately and, where appropriate, as in Iran, decisively defeating.
